Pak Biotechnology Center was established in 1988 to meet
the changing needs and demands of Pakmaya customers. The aim was to
improve the quality of existing products, as well as to develop premium
products for the upper end of the market. The center consists of two
research units, namely a pilot yeast plant and an environmental technology
laboratory.
The Center employs a group of specialized researchers with MSc and PhD
degrees who undertake multi-disciplinary projects by combining their
skills in chemical, mechanical, environmental and electrical engineering;
computing, electronics, microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology.
